Draft for review. This document is not final and items marked TODO(legal) are still to be confirmed.
Terms of Service
These terms cover neardoor: the online shop pages that neighbourhood businesses publish, the order links their customers share on WhatsApp, and the merchant workspace. neardoor is operated by TODO(legal): registered entity name, TODO(legal): registered address, trade licence TODO(legal): licence number.
What neardoor does
neardoor lets a shop show its catalogue online. A customer builds a basket, and neardoor turns it into an order page and a WhatsApp message that the customer sends to the shop.
neardoor is not a party to the sale. The shop that runs the catalogue sells the goods to you.
Ordering from a shop
You can order without an account. When you send an order:
- neardoor saves the order and opens WhatsApp with a message addressed to the shop. You send that message yourself, from your own WhatsApp.
- neardoor cannot confirm that the message was sent, delivered or read. If the shop does not reply, contact them directly.
- The order is a request. The shop decides whether to accept it, and may contact you to change or cancel it.
- Prices, stock, delivery or pickup, and payment are agreed between you and the shop. neardoor does not take payment.
Each order has a private link. Anyone who has the link can see the order’s items, totals and status, so share it only with people you trust.
Shops using neardoor
A shop that uses neardoor is responsible for:
- the products, prices, stock levels, photos and descriptions it publishes;
- its opening hours, delivery areas and pickup details;
- accepting, fulfilling, delivering and collecting payment for its orders;
- the accounts it creates for its staff, and keeping their passwords private;
- having the right to publish the photos, descriptions and catalogue data it uploads or imports.
Shop staff move each order through its statuses in the workspace. Those statuses are the shop’s own record and are not a confirmation by neardoor.
Acceptable use
Do not use neardoor to sell goods you may not legally sell in the UAE, to send messages people did not ask for, to collect other people’s data, or to interfere with the service or other shops.
We may suspend a shop or remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
Availability and changes
We work to keep neardoor available, but it may sometimes be unavailable or change. Features may be added or removed.
We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top of this page change when we do.
Liability
neardoor is provided as it is. We are not responsible for the goods a shop sells, for whether a WhatsApp message arrives, or for the payment and delivery arrangements between a shop and its customers.
TODO(legal): limitation of liability wording and cap.
Governing law
TODO(legal): confirm governing law and courts(proposed: the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the courts of the emirate of registration).
